Research cycles

Research Cycles is an educational cycle that brings together artists from different disciplinary, genre and cultural fields of creation. It runs in the form of artistic workshops which accentuate the body and its various channels of expression as the creative basis. It aims to share practical and theoretical knowledge about various branches of performance art and connect different generations. It offers space, time and mentorship to young and developing artists so they can explore and develop their skills and unique artistic languages through a varied selection of content.

Regular season classes

Learning NEST regular educational programs in diverse artistic practices, with a strong focus on dance and occasional musical content, are designed to engage both amateur and professional dancers. Ongoing classes and accompanying workshops in dance, music, and flamenco theory are led by dancer and educator Urška Centa, while flamenco dance classes for beginners and older generations are taught by instructors Ana Popović and Mojca Medvedšek. The content of the courses follows the principle of blending practical skills with a broader understanding of flamenco as both a historical and contemporary art form. Regular movement-based research sessions emphasizing contemporary dance techniques, improvisation, and composition are facilitated by dancers and pedagogues Kristýna Peldová, Sara Janašković, Anamaria Bagarić, and Tina Habun. Contemporary dance classes that incorporate elements of acrobatics are taught by April Veselko. The curriculum is built with a focus on deepening the understanding of human movement and the efficient use of one’s anatomical structures.
